Story in a Box

Emily is vacationing with her fiancé. She was with him a moment ago, but now she’s in a different world. Not knowing where she is and what’s happening around her, she’s going to try to find her way back home.

As Emily woke up to a familiar beautiful soft drum playing, she realized she was in a strange and gorgeous beach. The beach has silver and gold sand with an ocean surrounding around her. The color of the ocean was turquoise with diamond sparkling all over. Looking down at the sand, she noticed that her feet were all wrinkly by sleeping too long close to the waves. She wonders how long she had been laying there. Next to her was a wooden face connected to a wooden boat. The wooden face had red lipstick on the lip. The boat had white strings on the sides and it’s only for one passenger. The place seems so unfamiliar, but from afar she kept on hearing someone playing the drum. As she walked along the shore, she noticed the island is shaped like a cone. When she was walking, she saw three brown walnuts covered half way in the sand. As she picked it up, the weight of the walnuts were very light as there were nothing in it. This made her even more curious about the island. Walking for hours, she realized that she was the only one on the island. Being scared, she began to cry as she didn't know what to do. She gathered all her courage and decided that crying wouldn't solve anything. Therefore, she had decided to take a risk and sailed to one of the other island that is closed to her. She went back to find the boat that she saw earlier.

While Emily took the boat out in the sparkling water, she wonders why and how she got here in the first place. By thinking so hard, she remembered, she was at a vacation with her fiance! She’s praying for him to be okay. She got herself in the boat and pushes herself into the ocean. As the boat was going, she realized she does not have peddles for the boat. As she panic to get out before she gets too far out from the shore, she stood up fast without out balancing the boat, and she fell in the turquoise ocean. The waves were so strong that it pushed her deeper and deeper under the ocean. As she tried to gasp for air, it was no use; she was already too deep under the ocean. While she was under the ocean, it seems like she was floating. She thought that it was weird. She could see clearly, swim, breath, and talk under water. There were little and big bubbles all around her. As she’s walking, she came across a familiar soft colorful cloth. The designs on the beautiful cloth were purple, black, and gray. She noticed it was the cloth her fiancé gave to her for her first birthday. Underneath the cloth was Emily’s fiancé’s wallet. She recognized it was his because it had a print with an elephant in the front of a big green tree. She cried harder than before thinking her husband probably drowned in the ocean. As she was swimming, sobbing, and not knowing where she’s heading to next, she opened the wallet and there were some silver coins in it. He never carries coins, as she thought to herself. Maybe, this wallet belongs to someone else. Right when she was about to look closely at the coins, there was a man caring a black sculpture of a person with long ears and a little cute plate on his bag pack. He swims extremely fast and grabbed the wallet from her. He was speaking in a language that she could not understand. She didn’t understand him, but she didn‘t care, she was too happy that there where others here.

As he was talking in his native language loudly, she somewhat understand him by the facial expression that he made. Emily followed him. The further they swim the brighter the ocean became. She could hear the drums again. Ahead of them was a beautiful small green and white whirl with a light brown cover vase. The vase was tipped over and there was a light brown stick you can walk into it. She realized the closer they were to the vase, the smaller they became. When they reached the vase, she saw that the stick that was sticking out of the vase was actually a ruler stick. They had to walk on the ruler stick in order to get in. Right before they could enter in the vase, two mysterious men appear before them wearing all black. In order to go into the vase they had to be approved by these two men. The man that she was with was talking to them and handed them something that looked like gold nuggets. One of the mysterious man stamped his hand as the other came to her and stamped her hands as well. She looked at the stamp; and noticing that it was a China stamp with the side designed of a dragon. As she walked right into the vase, she saw a beautiful white house with a horse outside. She knew right away that was her house. She was extremely happy that tears were running down her cheeks. She ran towards the house and as she looked up she sees her fiancé standing by the doors waiting for her. She runs and gives him the biggest hug ever. Her fiancé told her to close her eyes because he has a gift for her. When she opened her eye, it was a sculpture of a man playing a drum. Finally, she looked back at the man that help her and thanked him for everything with a big smile. However, all of a sudden she heard someone talking in a soft voice.

The soft voice happened to be her fiancé talking, he said, “Get up sleepy head. I’ve been playing the drum for a long time now. Let’s enjoy our special vacation.” Emily got up and was very excited that everything was just a dream. As she got up from her sofa, her he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She replies, yes.
